Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
