LA Explodes in Jubilation as Los Angeles Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
Los Angeles experienced widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos depict countless of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an translator.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube cruising a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
