History of Targeted Attacks

Since the beginning of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.

This new event comes after other high-profile incidents, including:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a bomb placed on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a Ukrainian source previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never officially confirmed as a matter of standard practice.

The conflict has been marked by clandestine operations reaching into the center of the Russian capital.

The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
